Takeru Kobayashi Busy In Birmingham Ahead Of Krystal Square Off V Qualifier

He may no longer be the No. 1-ranked competitive eater in the world, but Takeru Kobayashi is still arguably the most famous, and whenever he makes the journey to the U.S., the 30-year-old legendary gurgitator is in high demand.
Such is the case in Birmingham where Kobayashi will compete Saturday in the local qualifier for the Krystal Square Off V World Hamburger Eating Championship. Kobayashi is already in town to tour the city, and beginning early tomorrow morning he will appear on three different news shows to talk about competing Saturday before the UAB vs. Alabama State football game and next week at the world hamburger eating championship in Chattanooga.
For those in the area, you can catch Kobayashi on FOX’s Good Day Alabama at 8:00 a.m. where he’ll talk to the show’s hosts and give eating tips to two from the morning show crew who will do a 30-second Krystal eating contest. Then he’s off to ABC for an interview at 11:00 a.m., and that will be followed by an appearance on FOX6 News at Noon where he’ll be interviewed and give tips to the meterologist who will do 30-second Krystal eating contest.
The KrystalSquareOff.com team will be in Birmingham from tonight until Saturday and then will head to Memphis. Keep track of the behind-the-scenes action by following the KSO Twitter feed.
